Haldi & Welcome Event

  • Kickoff the weekend with a scenic tram ride to Palisades High Camp for panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains - the perfect ‘Welcome to Tahoe’ experience

    We’ll start with our Haldi ceremony, where family & friends will cover us in turmeric paste. Think of it like a pre-wedding facial

    Then, enjoy an evening with music, games, and mehndi

    American dinner will be served

  • Palisades High Camp (Haldi outdoors; dinner indoors)

  • We’ll be on the top of a mountain so dress comfortably

    Traditionally, guests wear yellow or any other vibrant colors to a Haldi

Ceremony

  • We’ll begin with the Baraat, where Mihir’s family & friends get hyped, leading him in a parade-style procession so he arrives to the ceremony in style

    This will be followed by a Hindu / Gujarati ceremony where we will vow to spend the next 7 lifetimes together

    Indian lunch will be served prior to the wedding

  • Indian formal is preferred; Western formal is also acceptable

    Please avoid wearing red or black unless it’s a 49ers jersey

Cocktail Hour & Reception

  • Wrap up the weekend that we consider to be our “family birthday” with dinner, drinks, and dancing

  • Sunday, October 5

  • Cocktail Hour: 5:30-7:00 pm

    Reception: 7:00-12:00 am

    After Party (hotel bar): 12:00-1:30 am

    Everyone will have a break to recharge and change after the ceremony
